BLOGTASTIC!: Influencing the influencers will produce huge leverage
Remember that you shouldn’t just try to increase your blog’s traffic statistics. If you follow that path, you may soon make choices that you will regret later.
Maybe you already have a lot of traffic on your blog. Who are your readers? How many of them have the power to influence or extend your blog’s reach?
I still remember the day when one of my blog posts “Blogging Starter Checklist” was picked up by LifeHacker.com. I must have got more traffic in one day than the sum of all traffic over the last one month from that ONE link.
If you’re interested in building a powerful brand for your blog, then the quality readership is more important than the number of readers.
You want these influencers to read your blog. However, you must provide them with a high return on investment for an interaction (ROII).
Blogging Tip: Apply the Concept of ROII = Return on Investment for an Interaction
The more powerful a person is, the more importance he or she will place on their time. For these people, time really is money. Spending time in the wrong places will have a substantial opportunity cost for them. This means if they spend time reading your blog, they better get a good return for that interaction.
As a blogger, you must provide a high ROII.
If you can’t provide a high ROII, quality readers will find another blog that will deliver a better return.
Focus on providing a huge ROII for anyone who interacts with you. That’s good advice for both your blog and everywhere in your life.
