BLOGTASTIC!: Slacking has consequences
You are the king (or the queen) of your blog. Yes, it is your blog, and you can do whatever you want with it. This means that you can let your blog sit stagnant for weeks, months, or even years.
Worse yet, you can post filler content because you want your readers to think you’re still active.
Here’s the painful truth:
Quality readers can tell the difference between high-value content and filler.
You should always remember that your readers make a choice each time they visit your blog. They can choose to read your blog again or they can walk away forever. Each post helps your readers answer two important questions:
- Should I re-visit this blog?
- Is this blog worth my time?
At any stage in the life of your blog, there are always going to be new readers. Most new readers will not go back and read your blog from the beginning. So, when you slack on your blog, you will not only lose those new readers. You also cause your long-time readers to question the value of the blog.
Whatever way you look at it, slacking on your blog will impact your readership.
Blogging Tip: You can’t expect serious results if you are not serious about producing them
In life or on your blog, you can get serious results only when you are serious about producing them. Your blog is an important component of your personal identity, and it begs you to take it seriously.
